NextGate to Demonstrate System Integration and Interoperability at IHE NA Connectathon 2019

NextGate to encourage advancement of health information exchange and free flow of comprehensive patient data across and beyond traditional boundaries

PASADENA, Calif., January 17, 2019 – NextGate, the global leader in healthcare enterprise identification, announced today its participation in the 2019 IHE North American (NA) Connectathon, January 21-25, in Cleveland, Ohio. An avid supporter of the event since 2010, NextGate will showcase its leadership and long-term commitment to facilitating adoption of healthcare industry standards for enhanced integration and interoperability.

NextGate is dedicated to helping organizations overcome the clinical, operational and financial challenges that result from duplicate records and siloed systems of data by providing a fully-connected comprehensive record of care across the enterprise.

During the event, NextGate will collaborate with 100 participating health IT vendors and more than 500 product managers, software engineers, IT architects and developers to demonstrate the value of bidirectional standards-based connectivity and its suite of integrated, highly-interoperable solutions.

NextGate has a long history of bringing effective interoperability innovation to the IHE NA Connectathon with its comprehensive suite of identity management solutions. This year, the focus of NextGate’s testing efforts will be its flagship Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI), which manages patient identities for more than two-thirds of the U.S. population. NextGate’s EMPI, available on-premise or in the cloud, is the industry’s leading identity management platform that combines vendor-agnostic, cross-system interoperability with superior patient matching capabilities for a complete and accurate record of care across the continuum.

“NextGate is once again delighted to demonstrate its commitment to enabling seamless and reliable interoperability capabilities across our market-leading patient ID matching solution,” said Daniel Cidon, Chief Technology Officer of NextGate. “Connecting today’s diverse health IT environment to enable accurate record sharing between providers is a critical requirement for coordinated, value-based care success. As vendors and innovators, we have a responsibility to provide solutions that facilitate continuous interoperability across boundaries from provider to provider for informed, life-saving decision-making.”

Participating in the IHE NA Connectathon event and integrating seamlessly with other health IT companies underscores NextGate’s commitment to interoperability and bringing innovative solutions to market that helps organizations meet the insurmountable demands of value-based care and population heath.

“NextGate looks forward to participating in the IHE NA Connectathon and expanding our interoperability among disparate technologies to streamline the registration process and prevent record duplication at the point of care,” said Andy Aroditis, CEO of NextGate. “For over two decades, NextGate has placed interoperability and real patient identification at the core of our architecture to enable timely, accurate and comprehensive information across providers to drive enhanced clinical decision-making and better outcomes.”

Sponsored by Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE), the NA Connectathon is the industry’s largest interoperability testing event bringing together health IT vendors and government entities to collaborate and test the use of standards. The annual event promotes the development of sharing health information across various applications, systems and settings using IHE Profiles like PIX/PDQ and other industry standards, including HL7 FHIR.
