NextGate to Lead Patient Matching Discussion at HIMSS19

Market leader in patient identification software will showcase new advances in medical record matching, host expert panel discussions at booth 926

PASADENA, Calif., February 1, 2019 – NextGate, the global leader in healthcare enterprise identification, will demonstrate the latest advancements in patient matching technology during the annual HIMSS conference in Orlando, February 11-14. The company will also preview a new cloud offering that aims to further diminish hospitals’ most elusive duplicates and unleash greater levels of patient record matching accuracy.

Accurate patient identification is a foundational aspect of interoperability and coordinated care delivery. HIMSS19 attendees who visit booth 926 will have an opportunity to learn firsthand how NextGate’s market-leading Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) technology can transform their healthcare organizations by overcoming the cost, waste and patient safety issues that arise from duplicate records and disparate EHR systems. NextGate’s flagship EMPI platform, which manages patient identities for more than two-thirds of the U.S. population, is available on premise or as a cloud-based SaaS solution.

A recognized thought leader in patient matching, NextGate will be hosting two panel discussions to further the conversation on how organizations can utilize patient identification technology to incorporate outside data sources, such as those related to social determinants, to adopt a more integrated approach to care.

These sessions include:

  • In partnership with HealthcareScene, NextGate will host Embracing SDoH for Highly-Integrated, Coordinated Care – Tuesday, February 12, at 10:30 am – welcoming a panel of influential industry experts for a highly engaging discussion on effective strategies for embracing SDOH data.
  • At 1:30 pm on Tuesday, February 12, healthsystemCIO and NextGate will present: Leveraging Patient Matching to Incorporate Social Determinants into Population Health Management, for a panel discussion with healthcare IT leaders who are guiding the next phase of population health management within in their organizations by combining clinical and social determinants data for a complete picture of patients.

In addition, NextGate’s Chief Technology Officer Daniel Cidon will conduct two, 30-minute presentations on the latest trends and innovations in patient matching.

  • The Healthcare Innovator’s Guide to Patient Matching will take place on Tuesday, February 12, at noon and Wednesday, February 13, at 10:30 am.

Duplicate records cost hospitals $1.5 million and the U.S. healthcare system over $6 billion annually. In addition to the negative impact on an organization’s bottom line, patient matching issues contribute to medical errors, administrative waste, data sharing challenges and poor patient and provider satisfaction.

“Momentum for patient matching is surging as organizations nationwide struggle to exchange data and manage their increasingly diverse IT ecosystem,” said Andy Aroditis, CEO of NextGate. “Today’s integrated delivery networks must support a highly coordinated and interoperable environment that consistently connects the right data to the right individual. As the leaders in the space, we will continue to the shape the future of patient matching to help organizations enable a better, safer healthcare experience.”

The HIMSS19 conference will be held February 11-15 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
