NextGate Customers to Speak at SHIEC Virtual Annual Conference
Customers from KeyHIE, NEHII and UHIN to address the data challenges of COVID-19
PASADENA, Calif., August 17, 2020 ‑ NextGate, the global leader in healthcare enterprise identification, announced today that three of its health information exchange (HIE) customers from Keystone Health Information Exchange (KeyHIE), Nebraska Health Information Initiative (NEHII), and UHIN will participate on a panel at the 2020 SHIEC Virtual Conference. The panel, entitled “Overcoming the Thorny Data Challenges of COVID-19: How 3 HIEs Guided Crisis Response Efforts,” will be held on August 18 from 1:45 p.m. ET to 2:30 p.m. ET. Panel Overview:
COVID-19 has performed the unenviable task of exposing dangerously weak links in the care continuum. As the need for collaboration and access to high quality data for tracking and reporting intensifies, many providers remain stifled by interoperability shortfalls.
However, amid the turbulence brought on by the pandemic, HIEs have emerged as vital data contributors—sharing, standardizing and aggregating essential information. This session will bring together three leading HIE organizations to discuss how they are confronting various data challenges, including aggregation, patient identity management, and interoperability, for real-time case reporting and surveillance.
The 2020 Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative (SHIEC) Conference will be held virtually from August 18 – September 15, 2020. SHIEC advocates on behalf of the member organizations to ensure their needs are represented in nationwide conversations about critical healthcare issues, including health IT, health data sharing and stewardship.
